Title: Process Engineer (2nd shift)

DSJ Global is currently partnered with a premier custom injection mold component manufacturer based in Lynchburg, VA who is looking to add a Process Engineer to their 2nd shift team. This position is responsible for establishing processes and troubleshooting for new and inherited molding and will conduct process optimization and monitoring on a continual improvement basis. The Process Engineer will also work collaboratively with Quality Technicians, Quality Leaders, Production Managers, Supervisors, Customer Response Specialist Planners, Quality Engineers and Project Engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform necessary procedures (start-up, shut-down, processing, trouble shooting) for all types of presses on production floor.
  • Perform necessary procedures (start-up, shut-down, processing, trouble shooting) for all types of automation on production floor.
  • Process monitoring: developing criteria to be monitored and implemented.
  • Assist with mold setups as needed to maintain production schedules.
  • Complete all required documentation in production press folders.
  • Process optimization on a continuous improvement basis (Labor reduction, downtime reduction, cycle time improvement)
  • 5S work areas after completion of press/automation related tasks.
  • Implement and improve processes with the expectation of lowering cost.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to relevant requirements of International Standards to maintain company certification.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of plastic injection molding experience, 5 years of process development experience.
  • Experience with engineering grade resins, and familiarity with microprocessor-controlled machines is required.
