Technical Manager
This company is a global leader in producing foundry chemicals and high-performance phenolic resins. They provide products for the foundry industry and industrial resins for various applications. They also focus on sustainable solutions for foundry, fertilizer, and additive manufacturing. Operating in 22 countries, they employ around 1,700 people worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Support:
- Directly supervise the Process Engineer.
- Support plant-level ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 programs.
- Interface with Corporate Research and Development personnel.
Safety and Compliance:
- Handle process safety responsibilities.
- Engage heavily in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC).
Project and Process Management:
- Partner with the Plant Engineer on CAPEX projects.
- Interact with plant operation personnel and operators regarding new products and processes.
- Improve internal systems to increase efficiency and reduce administrative overhead.
Reporting and Technical Support:
- Report regularly on key business aspects, adhering to routine and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
- Provide technical information to Operations staff for proper operation and maintenance of plans and processes that minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
Safety and Housekeeping:
- Continuously improve safety records by addressing physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
- Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
Skill Development:
- Keep individual skills up-to-date with the latest plant quality concepts and process engineering.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Phenolics Chemistry and Technology.
- Experience with reactor operations.

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Experience with Process Control, particularly Delta V.
- Process Safety Management experience.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
- Over 6 years of experience in a high-production environment.
- 10 years of manufacturing experience, with 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
