Location: Lexington, KY
Compensation: $90,000 - $145,000 per year
Summary:
Our client, a market leader in the environmental engineering industry, is seeking a Purchasing Manager. This role involves developing and implementing purchasing strategies, identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices and terms, maintaining relationships, monitoring market trends, managing inventory levels, and overseeing the purchasing team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock.
- Oversee and lead the purchasing team to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in material purchasing, specifically in the plastics industry (polypropylene, polyethylene, PET).
- Strong analytical skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred experience with JDE E1.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective purchasing strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Ability to monitor market trends and manage inventory levels effectively.
- Leadership experience in overseeing a purchasing team.
