Senior Process Control Engineer
Job Summary:
The Senior Process Control Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing process control systems to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role requires extensive experience in process automation, control strategies, and troubleshooting complex systems to improve plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize process control strategies and automation systems to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety.
Provide technical leadership for control system design, modifications, and upgrades.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot process control issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Support and improve DCS (Distributed Control Systems), PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems).
Implement advanced process control (APC) strategies, including model predictive control (MPC) and real-time optimization.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISA, IEC 61511).
Lead and participate in HAZOP and risk assessments related to process control and automation systems.
Manage and oversee capital projects involving automation and process control improvements.
Train plant personnel on control system operations and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in process control engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or refining industry.
Strong proficiency in Allen Bradley, Delta V, DCS, PLC, and SCADA programming and troubleshooting.
Experience with PID tuning, loop optimization, and alarm management.
Knowledge of process instrumentation, sensors, and analyzers.
Familiarity with process modeling and simulation tools.
Working knowledge of ISA standards and cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Strong communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams
