Continuous Improvement Lead
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Continuous Improvement Lead with a strong background in heavy industrial manufacturing to join our team in Texas. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience and a passion for driving operational efficiency, improving quality, and optimizing processes in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
As a Continuous Improvement Lead, you will be responsible for leading efforts to drive operational excellence across the manufacturing floor by identifying opportunities for improvement, leading projects, and ensuring the successful implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practice methodologies.
- Develop and execute action plans based on data analysis and performance metrics.
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to operators, supervisors, and other staff members on CI tools, techniques, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments (engineering, quality, production) to ensure alignment of continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor and track performance improvements through key metrics, including cycle times, scrap rates, downtime, and quality.
- Prepare and present reports to management on project status, performance improvements, and return on investment (ROI) of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility by encouraging employee participation and innovation.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on heavy industrial manufacturing (such as automotive, aerospace, steel, or other similar industries).
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing projects from concept to completion.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Proven ability to drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools (ERP, data analysis tools, etc.).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
