Summary: The Food Technologist - Administers policies & procedures that cover functional areas in product development and quality assurance. Ensures employees in functional areas follow established procedures and ensures the company's compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. They will coordinate, direct, and manage the activities related to meeting all standards established by applicable laws or regulations, and those established by the company.
The Food Technologist - should have the following skill set:
* Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field is preferred.
* HACCP, SQF, or similar accreditation is preferred.
* Three to Five years' experience in food product development or quality assurance within the food and beverage industry.
* Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and state/local regulatory standards and programs.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
The Food Technologist - will:
* Be responsible for developing new food and beverage products that meet market demands and consumer preferences.
* Manage quality processes within manufacturing facilities.
* Oversee product testing and inspection in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
* Evaluate the impact of regulations and standards on site operations.
* Coordinate routine testing and monitoring as required.
* Identify the need for outside support, develop scope of work and contracts.
* Develop and implement quality assurance programs and policies.
* Conduct training on quality assurance procedures and standards.
* Assist facility management in investigation and analysis of quality issues, root cause, and corrective actions.
* Monitor program compliance and conduct audits for quality assurance.
