Operations Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing activities within our chemical production facility. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while driving continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of chemical manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, inventory control, and process optimization.
Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO).
Lead and develop production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, EHS, Maintenance) to resolve issues and implement process improvements.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and implementation of new technologies.
Manage operational budgets and contribute to strategic planning and forecasting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of chemical processes, batch/continuous operations, and regulatory compliance.
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
