Role Overview
As the Country Customs Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the strategic growth and development of the customs product in Sweden. You will serve as the country expert for customs-related services, leading initiatives that enhance service quality, customer value, regulatory compliance, and commercial success. Your focus will be on developing and expanding the customs portfolio, identifying business opportunities, and supporting cross-functional teams in delivering seamless and compliant customs solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
Define and execute the national customs product strategy in alignment with regional and global goals.
Drive product innovation, service enhancements, and digitalization within customs operations.
Identify new service opportunities and tailor offerings to Swedish market requirements.
Business Development
Act as the primary subject matter expert for customs in customer meetings, tenders, and RFQs.
Collaborate with the commercial and key account teams to grow customs business volumes and revenue.
Develop customised customs solutions for clients in various industries (e.g., automotive, pharma, retail).
Operational Excellence
Work closely with operations to ensure delivery of compliant, efficient, and high-quality customs services.
Support in the optimisation of customs clearance processes, ensuring adherence to Swedish and EU regulations.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
Stay up to date with Swedish and EU customs regulations (e.g., Tullverket requirements, UCC).
Ensure internal policies, systems, and processes are aligned with compliance standards.
Performance Management
Monitor product KPIs, profitability, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on performance analysis and market trends.
Collaboration & Leadership
Liaise with Nordic and global product teams to align on best practices, innovation, and standards.
Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on customs-related topics.
Requirements
Proven experience (5+ years) in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics product management.
In-depth knowledge of Swedish and EU customs regulations and procedures.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in business development or product ownership.
Experience working with Swedish Customs (Tullverket) systems and procedures.
Strong analytic, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
Customs brokerage license or formal customs training (meritorious but not mandatory).
Experience with digital customs platforms and tools is a plus.
