Position Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager
Job Summary: The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and programs aimed at promoting a safe and healthy working environment while ensuring environmental protection. This role involves significant interaction with MRO activities to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and Implementing Policies and Procedures:
- Create and enforce EHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Inspection and Risk Assessment:
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Training and Communication:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs.
- Communicate safety protocols to all employees.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Maintain EHS logs and documentation.
- Prepare and submit necessary EHS reports.
Environmental Protection:
- Oversee waste management and environmental protection initiatives.
- Ensure proper labeling, containment, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Emergency Response Coordination:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Provide first aid treatment and coordinate emergency response efforts.
Legal Compliance:
- Stay updated with relevant legislation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Employee Well-being:
- Promote a culture of safety and well-being.
- Conduct regular EHS meetings and trainings.
Continuous Improvement:
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead safety committees and behavior-based safety programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change.
