Air Freight Agent - CDG
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Air Freight Agent to join our team at CDG Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and handling air cargo shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cargo Coordination & Handling: Manage inbound and outbound air freight shipments, ensuring timely processing, documentation, and tracking.
- Customer Service: Assist clients with booking, tracking, and delivery inquiries while providing top-tier customer support.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and verify airway bills (AWB), customs declarations, and other required documents in compliance with IATA, customs, and airline regulations.
- Liaison with Stakeholders: Communicate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs agents, and ground handling teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Cargo Safety & Security: Ensure shipments comply with safety regulations, including hazardous materials handling and aviation security procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve delays, discrepancies, and other operational challenges promptly.
- Use of Systems: Operate cargo management software and tracking systems to update records and monitor shipments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, or logistics is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or IATA training are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of air freight operations and international shipping procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a 24/7 shift-based environment
- Proficiency in cargo software systems and Microsoft Office
- Multilingual abilities (especially French & English) are a plus
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to obtain airport security clearance and comply with aviation regulations
- Valid work authorisation for France
