Job Title: DC Manager - Ogden

Location: Ogden, Utah, USA

Management: Direct: 6; Total with Indirect Reports: 90 (+ approx. 100-150 temp. workers)

General Purpose

The DC (Distribution Center) Manager oversees warehousing and distribution activities to ensure optimal customer service and quality. Responsibilities include timely dispatch of products, leading the team, and maintaining high standards in health and safety, quality, inventory control, efficiency, and cost control.

Main Areas of Responsibility

DC Capacity Planning and Operations:

  • Plan DC activities and resources.
  • Ensure required storage capacity availability.
  • Track performance in cost, service, quality, and safety; drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update standard operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations (security, safety, customs, OSHA, sustainability).
  • Collaborate with the inbound global transportation team for scheduling and optimization.
  • Anticipate seasonal and promotional peaks; maintain efficiency during low activity periods.
  • Implement quality control systems using problem-solving approaches.
  • Manage inventory levels of consumable materials and lead annual physical stock reconciliation.

Manage, Organize, and Team Development:

  • Establish an organization with team leaders responsible for main DC activities (inbound, outbound, storage, VAS, carrier management, customs, lean/continuous improvement, IT/SAP, data analytics, maintenance).
  • Conduct regular activity reviews with team leaders.
  • Standardize functions with clear job descriptions and measurable objectives.
  • Enhance job flexibility and organize training plans for team development.
  • Plan team vacations and ensure continuity of standard functions.
  • Establish and maintain KPIs for health, safety, quality, inventory control, efficiency, costs, and performance management.
  • Promote accountability and adherence to personal conduct and warehouse policies.
  • Support change management and mental well-being within the team.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Collaborate with brand stakeholders and finance controllers to define and maintain the annual budget.
  • Review monthly results and yearly forecasts with finance controllers.
  • Ensure consistency with i-3PL targets; analyze deviations and take corrective actions.
  • Drive productivity initiatives and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Provide proactive communication and forward-looking analysis in case of issues.

Continuous Improvement and Productivity Initiatives:

  • Drive performance management programs, cost reduction, and efficiency activities.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to simplify standards and processes.
  • Adapt and extend DC capabilities to serve the Omnichannel-Business efficiently.
  • Ensure productivity activities provide clear financial benefits.
