Facility Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
- Provides Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering support for the incineration facility.
- Works with facility engineering and maintenance staff to resolve issues involving power, instrumentation, and controls.
- Reviews facility electric power distribution systems and collaborates with facility staff to improve system infrastructure and reliability.
- Provides project management support for capital projects, controlling project costs, scheduling resources, and communicating milestones with management.
- Assists in the completion of facility documentation and drawings for electrical systems.
- Assists the maintenance department in developing, maintaining, and ensuring the execution of facility preventive maintenance programs (PMs) for electrical systems.
- Contributes to facility Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Manages external engineering resources as needed.
- Interfaces with external electrical power contractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
- 10+ years' experience working as an Electrical Engineer in the petrochemical, chemical, and/or related industry
- Experience with 138KV strongly preferred
- Experience with medium/low (480v) voltage equipment required
- PM and Capital Management experience
- AutoCAD experience a plus!
- Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Project
- Experience working with union employees
- Must have a desire and ability to remain current with recent technology and developments within the industry
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA, OSHA, and standards/regulations related to electrical systems
- Primary schedule M-F, but must be available for on-call and to work turnarounds
- Requires lifting up to 50lbs, standing, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, crouching, speaking, listening, climbing, smelling, and working at heights
