Head of Project Cargo
On behalf of a large European freight forwarder, we are recruiting for a:
Head of Project Cargo / OOG / Breakbulk
Reporting to: APAC CEO
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Manage project cargo, out-of-gauge (OOG) and breakbulk shipments, from route planning to equipment selection and negotiations with carriers to oversee end-to-end shipment lifecycle.
- Work in close contact with vendors to review cargo movements, lifting plans, feasibility studies etc.
- Serve as PM contact for clients as well other group companies, providing detailed project updates and resolving any logistical challenges.
- Develop tailored logistics solutions based on customer requirements and cargo specifications.
- Pursue business opportunities in project cargo, breakbulk and OOG markets and assist sales.
- Identify routed growth opportunities in OOG/project cargo among the sister companies and support them in acquiring the business.
- Coordinate with other departments to bid in tenders and provide competitive quotes.
- Ensure all project cargo movements comply with local and international regulations.
- Coordinate preparation and verification of shipping documents, including permits, customs clearances, and bills of lading.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above
- At least 15 years of relevant Breakbulk, Project Cargo or OOG experience in international companies
- At least 5 years in management position with P&L responsibilities
- Successful track record of client acquisition and retention + book of trusted suppliers
- Fluent in English
