We are working with a leading global medical device company that is dedicated to improving healthcare through innovative solutions. With a strong commitment to quality, efficiency, and patient safety, our client is expanding their team in Hamburg and seeking a talented Planning and Purchasing Specialist to join their dynamic team.
Your responsibilities:
- Design and manage comprehensive supply plans based on demand forecasts, production timelines, and current inventory levels. Continuously adjust and update plans to reflect changing business conditions and operational needs.
- Track and manage inventory to ensure optimal stock levels, minimizing excess or obsolete items. Address inventory issues promptly to avoid shortages or disruptions in supply.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics, and sales teams to align supply plans and strategies across the organization. Facilitate smooth execution of these plans, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and working towards common goals.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and generate insights for improving processes. Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior leadership, highlighting performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including managing purchase orders, supplier negotiations, and ensuring timely product delivery. Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure that all orders are fulfilled on time.
- Foster strong, proactive relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual alignment and collaboration. Schedule regular meetings and visits to build rapport and address any potential issues before they impact the supply chain.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness. Promote better communication and coordination across departments and with suppliers to drive ongoing improvement.
Your Experience:
- Completed a commercial education (e.g., in foreign trade or as a forwarding agent) or hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
- Proven professional experience in supply chain management or procurement.
- Strong knowledge of SAP; experience with S/4 HANA is an advantage.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel, along with excellent reporting capabilities.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English and German.
- A collaborative team player with a practical, hands-on approach.
