Senior Director of Logistics

The Senior Director of Logistics oversees and manages the organization's logistics operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and services. This leadership role involves strategic planning, operational management, and performance optimization across logistics functions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:

   • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business objectives.
   • Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals.
   • Collaborate with departments like Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance.

2. Logistics Management:

   • Oversee logistics operations including Procurement, Inventory Control, Transportation, and Distribution.
   • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
   • Optimize logistics networks for cost savings and reliability.

3. Operational Oversight:

   • Manage transportation and distribution systems, including relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
   • Ensure compliance with shipping, customs, and hazardous materials regulations.
   • Oversee warehouse operations for efficient use of space, equipment, and technology.

4. Performance Monitoring and Improvement:

   • Establish KPIs to measure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
   • Continuously improve logistics operations to enhance customer satisfaction.
   • Implement technologies and automation, including a new Warehouse Management System.

5. Financial Management:

   • Develop and manage the logistics budget.
   • Negotiate contracts and rates with logistics service providers.

6. Compliance and Risk Management:

   • Ensure adherence to transportation and trade regulations.
   • Manage risks related to logistics operations, including safety and environmental concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred). Certifications in Logistics, Transportation, and/or Distribution preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Required Skills:
