Chassis Engineer
A leading Automotive OEM company is currently seeking a Chassis Design Engineer who will focus on new product development from conception to mass production working closely on chassis and its components.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tasks within the Chassis Equipment function, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of engineering designs.
- Oversee design activities from concept to production, support verification and validation processes, and address any issues during the design maturity stages.
- Create and manage drawings, CAD models, and engineering change releases. Ensure accuracy and effective collaboration within the department and with cross-functional teams.
- Prepare and support design reviews for manufacturing (DFM), aftermarket (DFAM), and quality tools related to the assigned function area.
- Collaborate with analysis teams (FEA, CFD) to validate designs and implement cost-effective, sustainable solutions.
- Work with test engineers to support testing activities and prototype procurement. Develop plans for accelerated endurance testing of components and assemblies.
- Engage with suppliers on sourcing, tooling development, quality issues, and engineering change approvals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant vehicle regulations (e.g., FMVSS, FMCSR, EPA, CARB) related to the fuel system function area.
- Respond to technical reports and provide corrective guidance based on verification and validation activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in product development (Automotive or Heavy Machinery OEM a plus)
- Knowledge of product development life cycle, and manufacturing processes
