Job Overview:

The Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of facility maintenance, including production equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds, ensuring optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This role drives continuous improvement efforts, preventive maintenance strategies, and operational excellence while aligning with the company's vision and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the maintenance department, ensuring efficient and cost-effective equipment, utilities, and facility upkeep.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through process optimization and energy reduction initiatives.

  • Drive preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability.

  • Deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services to both internal and external stakeholders by managing a team of salaried and hourly personnel.

  • Provide engineering expertise to support capital planning, equipment upgrades, and process innovations.

  • Assess production systems to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for enhancements, including new equipment installations and modifications.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance quality, productivity, and overall plant efficiency.

  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure proper preventive maintenance, track maintenance history, enhance planning and scheduling, and optimize inventory management.

  • Champion employee safety, food safety, plant security, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

  • Support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to safety and environmental policies.

  • Work alongside risk management teams to minimize exposure while optimizing property and liability protection.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in maintenance and engineering management, preferably within the food processing industry.

  • Strong leadership abilities, capable of problem-solving and engaging teams to drive solutions.

  • Understanding of public utility services & contracts (electric, natural gas, water, wastewater treatment & discharge).

  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Familiarity with food safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance.
