Maintenance Planner
Reports To: Maintenance / Reliability Manager
A company is seeking a Maintenance Planner to oversee unit maintenance activities, ensuring a balance between operating reliability and maintenance costs while achieving safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals. Key responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and record-keeping for all maintenance tasks, monitoring weekly schedules for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance, and providing emergency support. The role involves setting priorities for equipment, spare parts, processes, or critical events with the PCM team, coordinating resources to maintain production process availability, and negotiating production channel shutdowns with maintenance customers, in collaboration with the immediate manager, to adhere to company planning and support business sustainability and growth.
Your Role Will Include:
- Planning and scheduling maintenance activities, including safety requirements and technical information.
- Monitoring maintenance compliance with schedules and providing emergency assistance.
- Defining priorities for equipment and spare parts with the PCM team.
- Contacting suppliers for equipment repairs and improvements.
- Coordinating with the PCM team and supply department to select service providers.
- Managing the maintenance planning process, including work orders and backlog.
- Coordinating delivery of equipment and materials with operations.
- Entering requisitions and maintaining Bills of Material (BOMs) in SAP.
- Using SAP, Prometheus, and other systems for maintenance planning.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory, ISO, Quality, Food Safety systems, and GMP policies.
- Creating and maintaining job plans in the system.
- Debriefing with mechanics after job completion.
- Participating in Root Cause Problem Elimination (RCA).
- Providing documentation for procurement bidding.
- Facilitating weekly planning and scheduling meetings.
- Integrating production and maintenance plans.
- Supporting audits with relevant information.
- Preparing and adhering to the annual maintenance budget.
- Monitoring work orders for critical equipment.
- Reviewing schedules to ensure alignment with methodologies.
- Providing SAP-PM System support to execution teams.
- Executing PDCA's of maintenance plans in SAP.
Skills Required for Success:
- Certification in any technical area (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
- Proficiency in SAP PM and MM modules.
- Experience with Prometheus Scheduling System.
- Technical knowledge in field maintenance practices, maintenance and technical knowledge of equipment and assets in general, maintenance planning and control (PCM), and maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge in planning and scheduling.
Qualifications Needed:
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, including shutdowns and the creation of job plans for a manufacturing environment, such as food, pharmaceutical, or refinery industries.
- Use of KPIs for decision-making and corrective action.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct effective meetings.
- Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks.
- Ability to acquire and maintain knowledge of maintenance practices.
