Maintenance Manager

A prominent company in the Consumer Products sector is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a facility in the Pacific Northwest.

The Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate with leaders from maintenance, operations, and engineering to develop both short-term and long-term maintenance strategies to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of equipment. Through effective leadership, clear expectations will be set, and crews and individual team members will be held accountable for results in areas such as environmental, health & safety (EHS), compliance, quality, and reliability. This role reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor employees to apply management principles consistent with company guidelines. Promote excellence in safety, environmental, health, and compliance by identifying and mitigating high-risk hazards.
  • Guide, coach, and hold direct reports accountable for maintenance department results influenced by personnel performance and capability. This includes mechanical and/or electrical/instrumentation work processes, reliability strategies, daily and outage work execution, precision maintenance, and planning.
  • Ensure the annual performance development process is successfully carried out for employees in the department, aligning individual roles, responsibilities, and expectations with facility and department goals, and providing ongoing meaningful coaching.
  • Manage the environmental, health, and safety risks associated with site maintenance activities. Develop the capability of the maintenance organization in alignment with company culture. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for mechanical systems.
  • Develop and manage weekly schedules for maintenance crafts based on planned work.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial environment
  • Experience directly supervising others within a manufacturing environment or refinery
  • Knowledge of reliability concepts and implementing precision maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience in the pulp & paper industry.
  • Proven troubleshooting training/experience.
  • Experience with facilities maintenance and repairing/troubleshooting pumps, gearboxes, mechanical drive systems, and hydraulic systems.
