Role Overview: The Controls Engineer will design and develop control programs for refrigeration systems, working under minimal supervision and coordinating with other engineers and technicians. The role involves collaborating with the sales team, resolving technical issues, and overseeing the operation, application, installation, and repair of refrigeration products and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop control programs from wiring diagrams and I/O.
- Review hardware schematics.
- Assist in writing sequences of operations.
- Support production with changes.
- Communicate with engineers, technicians, and customers.
- Troubleshoot field deviations.
- Ensure products meet specifications.
- Resolve technical support requests.
- Provide project updates.
- Collaborate on warranty issues.
- Assist sales team with RFQs.
- Prepare proposals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience with CPCs, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Experience with electrical panel design and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of refrigeration system circuit design.
- Experience with refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of natural refrigerants is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
Physical & Behavioral Requirements:
- Regularly use hands to handle objects.
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally reach, climb, crouch, stoop, or kneel.
- Frequently lift up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 30 pounds.
- Maintain positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
