Papermill Superintendent
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Papermill Superintendent to oversee daily operations in our paper manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in papermill operations, including managing personnel, optimizing production processes, and maintaining safety standards. This leadership role requires someone who can drive efficiency, improve productivity, and ensure the highest quality standards in paper production.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise all aspects of papermill operations, including the production floor, machinery, and staffing.
Oversee production schedules, ensuring timely and efficient processing to meet customer demands.
Implement and monitor safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety standards.
Develop and manage a team of skilled operators, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
Optimize equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve operational problems.
Monitor production data, quality control, and inventory management to ensure product quality and consistency.
Work closely with other department heads (e.g., maintenance, quality control, supply chain) to ensure smooth operations across the facility.
Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers and vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Paper Science, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a papermill environment, with at least 5+ years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong knowledge of papermill operations, equipment, and production processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead process improvements.
Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in using ERP systems and other production management tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
