Position Title: Production Superintendent
Location: Greater Lynchburg, VA area

We are looking for a dynamic Production Superintendent to oversee critical production processes at our facility in VA. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this candidate will drive daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across the production areas. As a leader, you'll also be responsible for developing and mentoring your team, ensuring their growth and aligning their goals with overall production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the green-end and production processes, striving for an injury-free environment while maintaining high operational standards.
  • Promote a workplace culture rooted in strong management principles, ensuring alignment with company values.
  • Supervise daily production activities, driving improvements in key areas such as compliance, quality, cost reduction, and operational reliability.
  • Foster employee development by identifying skill gaps, leading problem-solving efforts, and empowering teams to take ownership of their work.
  • Provide guidance and problem-solving expertise during equipment breakdowns, ensuring quick recovery and minimal downtime.
  • Use your strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to influence continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a continuous manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
  • Skilled in evaluating costs, justifying expenditures, and performing risk-based decision-making.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills to address production issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Wood Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing teams in industrial, manufacturing, or military settings, including expertise in daily operational functions such as HR, EHS, and Quality.
  • Leadership experience in an OSB manufacturing environment or another forest product-related industry.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop team members, with a focus on performance management.
  • Familiarity with reliability-centered practices such as vibration analysis, lubrication, and thermography to enhance production uptime.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word (document creation, formatting, reporting) and Excel (spreadsheet creation, data analysis, using formulas and charts).
