Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Romania. This role has a regional EMEA scope and is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have experience in international accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance within a multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial reporting and accounting processes for multiple EMEA entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, VAT reporting, and corporate tax filings.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes.

  • Implement and improve financial controls and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with regional finance teams to support business growth and cost control initiatives.

  • Assist in managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations across EMEA entities.

  • Provide insights and recommendations on financial matters to senior management.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus).

  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain industry.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards.

  • Experience working with multi-entity and cross-border accounting operations.

  • Proficiency in accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP experience preferred).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Fluency in English is required; additional European language skills are a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic international environment.
