The Senior Quality Engineer involves providing quality support to production operations, ensuring the integrity of components and products. The Senior Quality Engineer will lead quality improvement initiatives, develop and document quality plans, and act as a technical liaison during prototype phases. Key responsibilities include driving quality deliverables, using problem-solving methods for root cause analysis, and supporting the role of quality in business success. The position requires a degree in engineering and extensive experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.
The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
- Implement quality parameters for new product introductions and qualifications.
- Develop and document quality plans for new and existing products, including selecting and qualifying gaging systems.
- Interpret customer and regulatory quality requirements and translate them into effective business practices.
- Serve as a technical liaison during prototype phases, assisting suppliers with measurement system correlation and resolving nonconformances.
- Ensure product quality in assigned areas as part of the manufacturing team.
- Drive quality deliverables and build credibility with internal and external customers.
- Measure performance through launch success and customer satisfaction, including timely and effective corrective actions.
- Use problem-solving methods for root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
- Apply knowledge of inspection equipment and techniques to provide timely data for decision-making.
The Senior Quality Engineer will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; minimum of 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Assurance in a metalworking environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF16949 standards.
- ASQ Certification is a plus.
