Food Safety Manager

A leading produce company is looking for a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Food Safety Manager to lead the food safety functions at their site outside of Salt Lake City.

The Food Safety Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Foster a proactive safety culture for food, plant, and employee safety.
  • Conduct audits against standards such as SQF, HACCP, and MiOSHA.
  • Oversee customer and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP/GMP and food safety requirements.
  • Focus on Quality KPIs and drive improvements.
  • Manage day-to-day quality, safety, and health operations.
  • Provide input on SOP creation and revisions.
  • Train and manage Sanitation department staff.
  • Stay updated on customer, company, and regulatory changes.
  • Identify and address potential risks.
  • Educate employees on safety procedures and policies.
  • Investigate and address injuries/illnesses and near-misses.
  • Perform process checks throughout the greenhouse.
  • Maintain training records and conduct routine audits.
  • Assist in developing new training programs.
  • Maintain GMP Database records and organize food safety documentation.

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking)
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in the Food or Pharma industry
  • Experience working closely with regulatory bodies
  • Audit experience
  • Strong leadership skills and a positive attitude
