Overview: We are seeking a Control System Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a DCS/PLC Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, commissioning, and operations of control systems and associated process control networks. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Control Systems team to ensure operational readiness of sites.
- Proactively manage the controls production environment, implementing preventative actions to avoid business-impacting incidents.
- Implement logic changes to enhance plant reliability and minimize plant trips, ensuring changes are controlled and risk-assessed.
- Coach operations and technical personnel on control strategies and concepts.
- Develop process control algorithms and prototypes, implementing them effectively.
- Organize, design, and execute the development, implementation, and maintenance of Basic Process Control and Process Optimization.
- Devise a multi-year strategy to standardize control systems across multiple sites.
- Establish and manage goals, reporting needs, key performance indicators, and dashboards for control system health.
- Provide remote support for customer sites, ensuring prompt resolution of control system performance issues.
- Collaborate with automation vendors to specify, design, and commission new and upgraded control and SIS systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in control system infrastructure, including project activities to renew and evolve DCS platforms.
- Develop business-level solutions for process historians to eliminate data silos and optimize data flows.
- Oversee the reliability and maintenance of DCS/SIS hardware and software.
- Develop systems to maintain backups of critical systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Automation, or Instrumentation preferred).
- 8-10 years of experience in controls engineering preferred.
- Desired skill sets: FactoryTalk (software), Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs (hardware), networking, and Wonderware.
- Preferred Skills: Canary Historian, DeltaV, ABB, Siemens, AMS, OSI PI, Aspen, SCADA, SIS, Instrumentation specification.
- Ability to learn quickly and stay updated with current technology.
- Metrics-based approach, with familiarity in Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Physically capable of bending, stooping, and climbing for facility surveys.
- Up to 20% travel may be required, along with other job-specific requirements.
