Company Summary: A market leader in Food Production is seeking a highly motivated an experienced Demand Planning Manager to join their team in Munich. The Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing all demand planning and forecasting processes for the company. This role involves a high degree of collaboration with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate demand forecasts and efficient network planning. The successful candidate will optimise inventory levels, improve service levels, and drive cost efficiency's throughout the supply chain network.
The Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for:
Demand Planning:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons.
- Lead the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts and business objectives.
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends to create accurate and actionable demand forecasts.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance to understand demand drivers and adjust forecasts accordingly.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and implement improvements to reduce forecast error.
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and software to enhance forecasting processes.
Network Planning:
- Design and optimize the supply chain network to meet demand requirements efficiently.
- Conduct network modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate and select appropriate transportation modes and carriers to balance cost and service levels.
- Work closely with the logistics team to ensure optimal warehouse locations and distribution strategies.
- Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to align production schedules with demand forecasts.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing carrying costs.
- Develop and implement inventory policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory performance metrics and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with procurement to manage lead times and order quantities.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Generate and distribute demand planning and network performance reports to key stakeholders.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Continuously improve reporting tools and processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of demand planners and analysts.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
The Demand Planning Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in Supply Chain/ planning or relevant experience.
- Leadership experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Fluent in English and German
