Job Title: Supply Chain Director - Electric Vehicles

Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Supply Chain Director to oversee the complete supply chain for electric vehicle (EV) and electrical commodities. This role is responsible for leading contract negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and optimal lead times that align with corporate goals and annual operating plans. Additionally, this position will identify and engage strategic partners for both legacy and next-generation products while managing a team of buyers responsible for the global supply chain of critical electrical and component commodities.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Supply Base Development: Select and cultivate a global supplier network to ensure a robust and resilient EV supply chain.
Cost Control & Efficiency: Lead initiatives for cost reduction, change management, and parts/service support to achieve financial objectives.
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop and execute procurement strategies that optimize part delivery and logistics while minimizing downtime.
Business Growth & Market Analysis: Identify new business opportunities through market assessments and segment gap analysis.
Supplier & Partner Engagement: Secure key EV partners and suppliers through thorough analysis and alignment with business goals.
EV Ecosystem Management: Oversee the EV ecosystem from initial assessment through end-of-life, ensuring comprehensive customer support.
Industry & Government Collaboration: Establish partnerships with leading EV infrastructure providers and contribute to EV industry advancements.
Policy & Legislation Advocacy: Serve as the primary liaison with lobbyists for federal and state EV legislation and collaborate directly with the EPA to structure the Clean School Bus Program within the IIJA Bill.
Industry Representation: Represent World Resources Institute's Electric School Bus Manufacturing and Supply Chain Steering Committee and collaborate with officials at all levels to promote the transition of school bus fleets to electric vehicles.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven ability to deliver cost savings and drive value in procurement leadership roles.
In-depth knowledge of best-in-class procurement and supply chain management practices.
Strong leadership and organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and coordinate work across teams.
Experience leading purchasing teams and managing global supplier relationships.
Expertise in project management, sourcing strategy development, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, cost modeling, vendor auditing, and budget management.
Strong business acumen, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Hands-on, results-driven approach with strong attention to detail.
Ability to navigate complex policies, contracts, and regulatory environments to execute effective negotiation strategies.
Proficiency in ERP systems, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel up to 30%.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in procurement roles, with at least 4 years in direct procurement within a global organization managing complex contracts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent certification.
