Title: Director of Logistics

Position Overview:
Our client, a growing medical device manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Logistics to oversee logistics operations in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes, reducing costs, and improving efficiency. As the Director of Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our logistics strategy to support our client's continued growth and success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction
- Oversee all aspects of the logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of logistics activities with overall business objectives
- Evaluate and select third-party logistics partners and vendors, negotiating contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the effectiveness of logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our logistics capabilities and mitigate risks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations, driving process improvements, and delivering measurable results
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to logistics challenges
- Experience working in the medical device industry is a plus
