Overview: We are looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee EHS policies, manage training programs, and ensure regulatory compliance across the manufacturing facility. The role includes managing risk, coordinating emergency preparedness, and maintaining necessary documentation to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and reinforce EHS policies, guidelines, and safe working practices.
- Provide daily guidance and direction to employees and management in EHS programs to ensure a common approach.
- Identify potential risks, develop plans to mitigate them, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and audited for effectiveness.
- Ensure that contractors comply with safety policies and requirements when working on-site.
- Work with the team to create and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and other safety operating procedures, ensuring they are up to date, understood, and followed by employees.
- Provide advice and support to operations management to ensure effective EHS practices are in place.
- Conduct or delegate job-specific EHS training, including OSHA-required safety training, and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections to minimize deficiencies and ensure compliance with permits and legal requirements.
- Maintain all documentation related to permits, inspections, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, including business continuity plans (BCP).
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure compliance with regulatory programs and assist with permit applications.
- Oversee ISO 14001 and 45001 audits, both internal and external, and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Investigate accidents, conduct follow-up audits, and work with management to ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Manage EHS audits, risk assessments, and perform regular training needs analysis.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on Workman's Compensation claims and case management.
- Lead emergency response teams and ensure drills and preparedness exercises are conducted regularly.
- Assist with training for Crane and Forklift operators and maintain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ensure proper maintenance of fire evacuation maps and emergency communication materials.
- Administer hearing conservation programs and respirator programs for relevant employees.
- Travel to various facilities to perform EHS duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Safety and health professional certifications.
- Associate degree (A.S.) in Environmental, Safety & Health, Business, or related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Workman's Compensation Claim and Case Management training.
- OSHA Compliance certification.
- ISO 14001 and 45001 internal auditor training.
