Overview:
The EHS Director is responsible for overseeing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs within a pet food manufacturing facility. This role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a safe work environment, and drives EHS initiatives in line with company values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Develop and promote EHS culture and initiatives; align EHS goals with business objectives.
- Compliance & Policy: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations; conduct audits and risk assessments.
- Training & Incident Management: Oversee safety training programs; lead incident investigations and implement improvements.
- Environmental Stewardship: Manage hazardous waste, reduce environmental impact, and lead sustainability efforts.
- Communication & Reporting: Collaborate with teams, engage employees in safety practices, and report to senior leadership on EHS performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, Occupational Health, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5-10 years of EHS experience, ideally in pet food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of OSHA/EPA standards, leadership skills, and experience with EHS management systems.
