We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer at our greater Minneaspolis, Minnesota facility. This role will support our electrical power, controls, and automation systems across both new and existing product lines. As the subject matter expert, you will play a key role in supporting future system upgrades, ensuring reliability, and optimizing our processes to meet the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technology & Maintenance:
- Keep current with advancements in power, automation, and controls
- Develop and manage a database of all plant electrical/control equipment, networks, and logic to track reliability and obsolescence
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of all plant processes and control systems to provide expert troubleshooting and support
Project & System Support:
- Manage and optimize production/support systems, electrical controls, hardware, software, and networks for reliability
- Install, program, repair, and manage devices and systems for process control and measurement
- Troubleshoot automation, measurement, and control technologies; conduct systematic fault analyses and repairs
Documentation & Safety:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including risk and hazard assessments for new projects
- Coordinate redline drawing updates, ensure compliance with safety standards, and perform weak-point analyses
Innovation & Teamwork:
- Represent electrical, automation, and process controls in future projects
- Foster collaboration with internal teams (R&D, Engineering, Production, IT, and HSE) to optimize systems and improve energy efficiency
- Provide training to maintenance and operations staff, and manage third-party contractors for engineering support
Job Requirements
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years experience in industrial food processing
- Proficiency with critical thinking, problem-solving, system analysis, adaptability, and monitoring skills
- Flexibility to work off-hours or weekends as needed
Preferred Skills:
- Project management experience
- Previous work managing electrical systems and production processes
