Responsibilities
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including waste management, air quality, and water discharge standards.
- Environmental Assessments: Conduct regular environmental assessments and audits to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement within manufacturing processes.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the facility's environmental footprint, including energy efficiency programs and waste reduction strategies.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze environmental data to monitor performance, identify trends, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, safety, and quality assurance, to integrate environmental considerations into all aspects of manufacturing processes.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on environmental practices, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
- Project Management: Lead and manage environmental projects from conception through implementation, ensuring that goals are met on time and within budget.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders to foster positive relationships and communicate environmental performance and initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging environmental technologies and best practices, recommending improvements to enhance the facility's environmental performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, EHS, or Chemical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in Environmental Engineering within manufacturing or similar industry.
- Previous experience with aluminum manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience preparing environmental permit applications.
- Experience preparing EHS policies and procedures, self-assessments, training, and audit processes.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and human relations skills.
