Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager required for Leading Food Production Company

Job Summary:
A prominent Food Production Company is seeking a new EHS Manager to join the plant steering committee and play a significant role in plant leadership. The selected individual will be in charge of the entire EHS program for one of the company's main plants.
As a facility leader, the EHS Manager will have a significant role in creating and implementing SOP's and trainings for the entire plant. The manager will report directly to the Director of EHS&RM and will be responsible for promoting a safe working culture and implementing effective EHS&RM programs that align with Corporate EHS&RM, enabling the site to effectively identify and mitigate risks.
Responsibilities of the EHS Manager:
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight in accordance with Corporate EHS & Risk Management on issues related to the environment, occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, and security.
- Lead a cross-functional and multidisciplinary team to address EHS and security issues at the site.
- Develop strategic and tactical response proposals and inform site leadership about potential impacts and mitigation strategies.
- Implement an incident investigation method in accordance with corporate EHS & Risk Management at sites to ensure thorough investigation of incidents and determination of root causes.
- Participate in managing the plant's hearing conservation program and conduct annual audiometric testing.
- Supervise industrial hygiene monitoring and equipment maintenance.
- Manage Brady Lock Pro (LOTO Instructions) for all plant machinery.
- Aid in updating and revising Plant Safety Programs as necessary.
- Ensure injured employees receive prompt and appropriate medical care by accompanying them to Medical Provider Visits.
Qualifications for the Ideal EHS Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required
- Master's degree in related field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental health & safety in a food manufacturing environment
- Training in OSHA/EPA regulations
- CSP, CIH, CHP preferred
- Experience with Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Demonstrated on-site emergency response experience
- Experience developing SOP's and creating specific trainings pertaining to EHS
- In-depth understanding of OSHA principles and best practices
- LEAN/Six Sigma experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
