Facility Maintenance Mechanic
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting a manufacturing facility by scheduling and performing maintenance activities in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The role involves maintaining critical systems, equipment, and utilities to ensure smooth operations, safety, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
- Maintain logs and records to ensure the effective operation and compliance of critical systems and equipment.
- Operate and maintain the central utilities plant, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, air compressors, purified water systems, and wastewater treatment systems.
- Maintain buildings and grounds to ensure optimal conditions.
- Respond to service calls during and after regular working hours to troubleshoot and complete repairs, coordinating with outside contractors as needed.
- Provide support for manufacturing and other maintenance activities, including working during scheduled plant shutdowns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance and/or construction experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or food processing industries is highly valued.
- Working knowledge of plant utility systems, building automation controls, and HVAC systems preferred.
- Proficiency or certification as a Boiler Operator (High Pressure) and/or electrical licenses preferred.
- Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems is a plus.
Schedule:
- Work schedule includes Friday through Sunday and every other Thursday, from 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM.
