About the Role
This client, a globally established freight forwarder, is investing in a new division focused on Reefer and Pharma Cargo in Italy. Following their success in similar initiatives across other markets, they are seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Head of Reefer and Pharma Cargo to build, lead, and expand this pivotal sector from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Business Development
- Define and implement the strategic road map for the Reefer and Pharma Cargo division in Italy.
- Identify and secure key clients, with a focus on reefer, pharma, and perishable cargo.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with stakeholders to achieve commercial objectives.
Leadership & Team Building
- Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing team as the division grows.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and performance excellence.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, especially for temperature-sensitive and pharmaceutical goods.
- Leverage the company's international infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency.
Hands-On Execution
- Actively engage in sales, operations, and client management alongside strategic planning.
- Work cross-functionally to align divisional goals with broader organisational objectives.
Market Positioning
- Establish the company as a leader in Reefer and Pharma logistics in Italy.
- Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in commercial and business development roles, preferably in Reefer, Pharma, or Perishables logistics.
- Proven Success: Demonstrated ability to build and scale a business unit or division.
- Leadership: Strong experience in managing and developing teams.
- Industry Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Reefer and Pharma Cargo operations, regulations, and market dynamics.
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and results-oriented.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Italian and English (mandatory).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
