Job Overview: As the Lead Wiring Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in our team, taking charge of designing various wiring harness families. Collaborating with a diverse group of professionals, you'll utilize cutting-edge design software and inputs to craft harness drawings that meet intricate electrical requirements for power distribution and protection within a complex framework. With a hands-on approach as a product owner, you'll meticulously assess and verify your designs, ensuring accuracy in form, fit, and function.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a proficient engineer, overseeing the design and release timelines for different wiring harness families under automotive brand
- Spearhead the development and execution of intricate electrical wiring harness projects, including devising routing and clipping solutions.
- Effectively convey design and project specifications to external design counterparts, as necessary.
- Guarantee the accuracy and completeness of all wiring harness releases within your designated scope.
- Employ engineering calculations to select the most optimal wiring harness components in terms of value.
- Address technical reports promptly, offering viable solutions and recommendations following validation exercises.
- Collaborate with purchasing and product finance departments, conducting detailed analyses on product costs and cost of change.
- Provide support to wiring harness supplier(s) in implementing and streamlining wiring harness designs for industrial production.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 8-12+ years of related industry experience
- Expert knowledge of development processes for wiring harnesses
- SAE, IEEE, and Mil standards
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle electrical systems
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Automotive, Military, Commercial Vehicle engineering experience
