DSJ Global is currently partnered with a world class leader of innovation in the Aerospace Industry looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. As a member of their dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using cutting-edge CAD software. Your responsibilities will include generating detailed 2D and 3D drawings, models, and prototypes, as well as performing engineering calculations and simulations to ensure the validity of design concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize CAD software to design and develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, models, and prototypes.
- Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and make informed decisions.
- Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other relevant simulations.
- Oversee the fabrication of prototypes for testing and validation purposes.
- Analyze test results and iterate on designs to enhance performance and reliability.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to uphold product reliability and consistency.
- Participate in design reviews and conduct design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA).
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and MIL standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Work closely with procurement teams to optimize material costs and manufacturing processes.
- Identify and resolve technical issues independently and as part of a team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical simulation software and tools.
- Knowledge of defense industry regulations and standards.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within defense programs such as missile systems and loitering munitions.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 U.S.C. ยง 6010.
