Summary of Functions: Oversee the entire process of receiving, processing, and packaging, including limited warehouse operations. Responsibilities include operating and cleaning equipment, completing production and quality documentation clearly and concisely, and maintaining a sanitary working environment. Assist in managing company budgets and goals, train new personnel in equipment operation, and enforce company policies and safety procedures.
The Plant Supervisor will work closely with the Plant Manager and/or Plant Superintendent, planning, directing, and supervising activities and employees according to departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to meet production schedules and achieve continuous improvement. The Plant Supervisor ensures employees are trained, provided with appropriate tools, and have clear expectations. This role requires effective and timely communication with the production team and departmental managers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations of product receiving, separators, membrane filtration, pasteurization, drying, warehouse, and packaging.
- Monitor product specifications to ensure target goals are met.
- Identify and resolve process and equipment issues to maintain productivity and quality.
- Manage employee performance by setting expectations, holding people accountable, and addressing operational needs promptly.
- Follow up on production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, and monitoring progress.
- Participate in training and safety programs to enhance work area effectiveness.
- Monitor equipment performance to ensure product results meet customer specifications and report deviations to management.
- Review and execute company KPIs with Plant Management.
- Supervise training of new personnel and review product quality with the Management Team.
- Troubleshoot quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and report findings.
- Monitor chemical use during cleanup and ensure proper product rotation.
- Communicate necessary changes or run conditions to other departments and report issues to the Plant Manager.
- Ensure inspection readiness and perform post-CIP inspections for equipment cleanliness.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and take inventory as needed.
- Report violations of company policies and procedures to the Plant Manager.
- Enforce and follow all safety and working rules.
- Review monthly safety reports and attend safety meetings.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by participating in efficiency and improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees, including discipline.
- Report employee issues to the Plant Manager.
- Call in employees as needed to cover shifts.
- Oversee the performance of the Plant Foreperson.

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED and four years of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in leadership, team development, coaching, and/or teaching.
