POSITION SUMMARY
A billion-dollar ice cream manufacturer is looking to bring on a motivated and forward-thinking Process Engineer I at their HQ facility in Lemars, Iowa. As a Process Engineer, you will offer mechanical engineering support focused on processing systems for raw and pasteurized products, including storage, handling, and transfer operations. You'll also be responsible for technical support; coordinating and supporting the installation and startup of small-scale process engineering projects assigned to the Engineering Workshop, utilizing in-house or subcontracted resources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Support
- Provide support for product processing systems, including installation, startup, and troubleshooting
- Help design and implement process systems like Clean-In-Place (CIP) and pasteurization
- Process Improvement
- Work on improving system efficiency, reducing costs, and solving technical problems
- Support new product development with innovative solutions
- Project Leadership
- Lead and coordinate small projects, including construction, equipment startup, and operator training
- Collaborate with plant teams to enhance process systems and save costs
- Documentation
- Create and manage technical documents like engineering drawings and cost estimates
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering OR 3+ years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of dairy processes and standards
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
- Proficient with software tools like CAD, OfficeSuite
