Are you an experienced Procurement Professional with a passion for the automotive manufacturing industry? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Manager to oversee the sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management of materials and components within the automotive manufacturing industry. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions, and maintaining supply chain efficiency to support production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management & Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with key suppliers of automotive parts, raw materials, and components.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are met.
- Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations.
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to meet the company's short-term and long-term supply needs.
- Analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor pricing to optimize procurement decisions.
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives, negotiate competitive pricing, and achieve overall cost efficiency goals.
Contract Negotiation & Management:
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and conditions.
- Draft and review supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Manage contract renewals, modifications, and disputes effectively.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Collaborate with production and logistics teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and ensure the timely availability of materials.
- Ensure inventory control systems are optimized to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and production delays.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, quality control, and production teams to understand product specifications and ensure that sourced materials meet the required standards.
- Support R&D and product development teams by sourcing new materials and components for new product lines.
- Liaise with the finance department to ensure procurement budgets and forecasts are adhered to.
Reporting & Data Analysis:
- Track and report on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.
- Utilize ERP and procurement software to manage orders, contracts, and supplier data effectively.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on procurement status, key metrics, and potential risks.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a strategic procurement, within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiation, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards, regulations, and quality control processes.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and supply chain management tools.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and procurement software.
