Production Systems Engineer III
Location: New Bern, NC / Full-time
Your Responsibilities:
- Teach and train the tools and methods of our client's Production Systems.
- Lead and develop others to lead continuous improvement activities involving management, operators, vendors, and other relevant parties to achieve business objectives.
- Act as a sparring partner for the Site Production System Manager to identify opportunities for process improvement and support lean production.
- Provide direct support and mentorship to operations through problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
- Deploy standard tools and templates for shop floor display and tracking.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and maintain value stream target states and long-term project strategies.
- Support the organization in developing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) trees.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify areas for lean improvement activities and realize sustainable improvements.
- Train the organization in lean methods, elements, and principles based on our client's production system standards.
- Lead Production System assessments and maturity projects.
- Increase maturity of Production System processes for the New Bern location through observation, evaluation, and implementation of future state designs.
- Lead System Continuous Improvement (System CIP) Workshops and Projects.
- Transition System CIP projects to day-to-day management.
- Implement robust systems to bring the factory to a benchmark level.
- Implement solutions and best practices, partnering with associates across all functions and levels.
- Incorporate best practices and lessons learned internally and through interactions with external groups regarding Production System implementation.
- Coordinate participation in CIP events at other factories and facilitate workshops and/or training sessions related to Production System topics such as production and administrative Value Stream Design, TPM, and other lean improvements.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- 7-10 Years of Manufacturing Experience
- 3-5 Years of LEAN Manufacturing Exposure in a Business Environment
- Intercultural Awareness and Sensitivity
- Excellent Spoken and Written Communication Skills (ability to "sell" an idea)
- Lean methods, principles, and elements expert (e.g., value stream mapping and design)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
- Travel Percentage - 30%
