A Food & Beverage client is looking for a Project Engineer to join their expanding team in their Oxnard, CA location. My client is known for being a global leader in naturally good food and beverage ingredients and solutions. They specialize in raw materials and ingredient platforms including cocoa, coffee, dairy, spices and more.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and process improvements by studying equipment, utilities designs, and layouts, identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives through various projects, and manage project costs by monitoring expenditures and manage project database.
Responsibilities:
- Develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans in agreement with stakeholders.
- Determine project specifications by studying product design, requirements, and performance standards.
- Reviews quotes from contractors, prepare cost estimates and Capex proposals.
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommending action items.
- Manage project costs by monitoring expenditures and maintain project database by entering and backing up all data. Identify areas for improvement and risk.
- Confirm project performance by conducting laid out tests/trials of installed machinery and implement policies, procedures and systems for capex management.
- Provide specialized skills in support of capital project implementation and administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Five (5) years of experience in food processing, agriculture, chemical or pharmaceutical industries.
- Demonstrated current knowledge of environmental and sustainability initiatives for food business and ability to implement innovative solutions.
- Advance analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to identify necessary criteria when evaluating a process/system.
- Ability to critically analyze new and existing designs to generate cost reductions.
