Role:
In a time of unprecedented expansion, we are seeking a Senior Director to lead our rapidly evolving Quality & Engineering team in the SEA region. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the transformation of our Quality Management System and enhancing our Engineering capabilities to align with the demands of our growing business.
To excel in this role, you should have a proven track record of leading teams through transformative change, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a collaborative global matrix organization. You will collaborate closely with the quality and engineering leadership team to establish a robust quality and engineering system across our entire supply chain. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you will be required to present complex concepts clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels, including executive decision-makers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of the region, providing leadership and guidance to both the quality and engineering teams, fostering a culture of consciousness and continuous improvement.
- Drive the transformation of our Global Quality Management System in collaboration with our partners at the business in the United States.
- Provide leadership in Quality & Engineering, with a focus on speed to market, high-quality work, cost-effectiveness, and global collaboration.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners, collaborating with vendor and supplier partners to ensure successful production and manufacturing outcomes.
- Lead the team in identifying and resolving inefficiencies in quality and engineering processes.
- Apply key performance indicators, technology, and best practices to drive continuous improvements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality and engineering, and integrate relevant changes into internal policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 20+ years of experience in the quality or engineering field, preferably in related industry.
- 10+ years of experience in people management.
- Proven leadership skills with an excellent track record in change management; strong leadership and management abilities are essential.
- Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as BIFMA, EN, ASTM, and ANSI.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information to drive decision-making.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with global teams, cross-functional teams, and vendors/suppliers in Asia.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for team meetings, vendor visits, conferences, visits to company headquarters, and other related activities.
- Strong command of English and Mandarin; proficiency in other Asian languages is a plus.
