Job Description:
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions to support our manufacturing processes in the pharmaceutical industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of automation systems, optimising efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions utilising Siemens automation platforms (e.g. PCS7, Step 7, WinCC, and TIA Portal)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand process requirements and translate them into technical specifications for automation systems.
- Programme and configure automation equipment using programming languages such as C++, C#, AWL, JavaScript, or comparable languages.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of automation systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including functional specifications, design documents, and standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with higher-level control systems such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ensuring seamless integration with automation platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Siemens automation platforms (PCS7, Step 7, WinCC, TIA Portal).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, AWL, JavaScript, or comparable languages.
- Basic understanding of higher-level control systems (MES, ERP) and process-related IT.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Experience in EMSR (Electrical Measurement, Safety, and Regulation) systems is a plus.
- Fluent in both German and English
