Job Overview: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and analysis of prototypes, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes. You will leverage your expertise in mechanical engineering to support our product development initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and testing of mechanical prototypes in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct thorough analyses of prototypes to assess performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Perform root cause analysis on product failures and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Utilize Unigraphics (UG) or SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Manage product data using Product Data Management (PDM) systems to maintain organized project documentation.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles in the design and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to optimize product designs for production efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure best practices are followed.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering and specialty chemicals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering within the specialty chemicals or a related industry.
- Proven experience with prototype design, testing, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Unigraphics (UG) or SolidWorks and experience with PDM systems.
- Proficient in GD&T principles and their application in design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience conducting root cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Project management experience is a plus.
