Job Description:
Role Overview: As a Strategic Buyer specializing in IT services within the financial services industry, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT solutions aligned with our business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of IT procurement processes, market trends, and the ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies. The organisation are building out category management so it is an entire greenfield approach which gives you the opportunity to build from scratch!
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for IT services, including but not limited to software development, infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and IT consulting.
Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential vendors, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance metrics.
Negotiation: Lead negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contract agreements while mitigating risks and optimizing value for the organization.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in IT services procurement, providing insights to stakeholders for informed decision-making.
Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements across IT services procurement processes, driving cost savings initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, legal, finance, and business units, to align procurement strategies with business goals and requirements.
Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with vendor relationships, contractual agreements, and service delivery, implementing risk mitigation strategies as needed.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards related to IT procurement and vendor management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in strategic procurement or sourcing roles within the financial services industry, with a focus on IT services procurement.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts and agreements.
- In-depth knowledge of IT services categories, vendors, market dynamics, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, conduct market research, and develop strategic insights.
- Proficiency in contract management, vendor relationship management, and risk assessment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and verbal.
