Our client, a mid-sized logistics firm focused on trade lanes between Europe and China, had an ongoing vacancy but struggled to find someone who fit their requirements with the desired skillset. With their human resources team based in the Netherlands, but human management and senior leaders based in China, delays in communication and feedback had been slowing down the process.
Motivated to find the right fit for our client, DSJ Global's team on the ground in Amsterdam found the perfect candidate who was interested in the company – however, they were incredibly sought-after, already having two other offers on the table.
The solution
Understanding the need to move quickly, we sent their resume to all stakeholders involved in the hiring process across the Netherlands and China, stating that a call was needed urgently to discuss the full details. Prompting a call from the team in China, DSJ Global:

- Informed the company on what they were up against – two offers, one of which wanted an answer in the next four days
Learning that the client's team in China was visiting Amsterdam for one day, our team immediately started solution-finding to facilitate an interview. We:
- Co-ordinated flight times so the candidate could meet the client
- Booked a meeting room in a convenient location for both parties for the interview to take place
- With concerns about the need to discuss confidential information, we organized an NDA for the candidate to sign
Knowing they needed to move fast – hours and days rather than weeks – to secure this candidate, our team also proactively collected passport information, pay slips, references, address details, and work permits from the candidate, so the client had everything they needed to prepare an offer and compete with the existing offers.
The client also wanted to meet with DSJ Global for further support optimizing their hiring processes and strategies, but had limited availability. We set up a breakfast meeting on the same day that didn’t take up any additional time but gave us a chance to update them with market insights and current industry trends – something that every specialist team at DSJ Global does continuously.
The result
Following a successful meeting between the client and candidate, they progressed quickly with an offer that the candidate happily accepted, declining their other two offers.
This also prompted the firm to task DSJ Global with filling a further vacancy, impressed with the team's proactivity, resilience, and motivation to secure the right talent for the right role.
