Procurement & Materials Manager

A leading industrial manufacturer is looking to bring on a Procurement & Materials Manager to lead their team. This title is responsible for purchasing, sourcing, and inventory management functions for plant operations. This is an excellent opportunity to build out your team leadership experience and join a large organization with opportunity for growth in the manufacturing world.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchasing and warehousing activities for the plant and terminals.
  • Develop and negotiate goods and services agreements, ensuring compliance.
  • Identify and lead process improvement opportunities in procurement and inventory management.
  • Apply competitive bid processes and negotiate supply agreements.
  • Drive inventory reduction initiatives and manage warehouse operations.
  • Develop and manage procurement and inventory management KPIs.
  • Support plant operations and participate in budgeting processes.
  • Oversee insurance requirements for contractors.
  • Work closely with the Finance group on monthly accruals and cost projections.
  • Support plant operations as needed and perform other duties assigned by plant management.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in technical, economic, or business field.
  • At least 5 years experience managing a team of direct reports in Supply Chain functions.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Personal emphasis on continuous improvement organizationally and personally.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience with ERP and MRP systems appreciated.
