Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, selection, specification, and maintenance strategies of rotating machinery and equipment. This includes pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and associated auxiliary systems. You will support both greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring all rotating equipment meets project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for the selection, specification, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment.

  • Develop and review datasheets, technical specifications, and requisition packages.

  • Evaluate vendor proposals and participate in technical bid analysis and vendor selection.

  • Lead and conduct rotating equipment design reviews (FAT, SAT, HAZOP, etc.).

  • Support maintenance and reliability teams in the optimization of equipment performance and reliability.

  • Ensure all rotating equipment complies with relevant API, ASME, ISO, and other applicable standards.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

  • Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures and develop corrective action plans.

  • Interface with project teams, procurement, construction, and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

  • 3+ years of petrochemical plant maintenance engineering; Project experience on capital projects desired

  • Proficient with SAP - BOMs, WOs, PRs, POs, Equipment Hierarchy

  • Hands-on experience with equipment selection and troubleshooting in complex systems.

  • Proficient in engineering software (e.g., ANSYS, CAESAR II, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and vibration analysis tools.

  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • PE or Chartered Engineer certification is a plus.

Preferred Traits:

  • 5+ years of maintenance engineering and experience with plant rotating and fixed equipment
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in the oil refining or petrochemical field
